Boomers and Beyond ~ Ultimate Prevention Plan

Course Description

From the birth of their first child to caring for their last tooth, oral health care providers in private practice have a unique prevention based relationship with their adult patients. Hygienists caring for mid-life patients are more than just tooth cleaners.  We are often called on to be sounding boards, pre-diagnosticians or co therapists. Travel through the milestones of adulthood and touch on different ways to incorporate preventive strategies and modalities for all of life’s curves and events.  This half day course is packed with information most hygienists wonder about, or wished they knew more about.

Course Goals

The goals of this course are to ignite dental hygienists’ imagination and extinguish boredom.  They include educating dental hygienists about the treasures in the oral health care isles at the store, as well as new science to help our patients keep their teeth a life time.  Boomers and Beyond ~ Ultimate Prevention Plan includes information on adults with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, cancer treatments, piercing, bulimia, properly fitted mouth guards, soda pop, chewing gum, xerostomia, ethical treatment planning and more.
